We got scammed online. We tried getting our money back. Filed a cybercrime complaint. Nothing happened. So we exposed the scammer publicly with proof screenshots. The internet did the rest. He got scared and returned the money.
That taught us: public accountability creates real pressure. So we built ScammedMe.in.
ScammedMe.in is India's crowdsourced scam reports platform. Anyone can search a phone number, UPI ID, or social media handle to check if someone is a known scammer. And if you've been scammed, you can report them publicly to warn others.
HOW IT WORKS
1.Someone gets scammed and files a report with proof screenshots
2.We verify the report and publish it publicly
3.The scammer's phone number, UPI ID, and details become searchable
4.Next time someone searches that number before paying, they get warned
India loses over Rs 1,750 crore every year to online scams. Most victims never get their money back. We're here to change that — one report at a time.
