Why we built this

We built ScammedMe.in because we've been through this ourselves.

Multiple times, we had to send money to unknown people — for jobs, online deals, UPI payments, or services. And every time, the same thought came: ‘What if this is a scam? What if they disappear after payment?’

There was no simple way in India to check a phone number or UPI ID before sending money.

So we built ScammedMe.in — a community-powered platform where Indians report and check scams before they lose money.
